Acrylics (2017)
Product Design
In response to a class reading about language disorders and barriers, I began to think of language as a combination of symbols, signs, and code, that requires a mutual understanding in order to provide any meaning. When disrupted, language becomes increasingly difficult to interpret. For this project, I wanted to create individual units that behave like a puzzle. Alone, they mean nothing, and the mutual understanding between the viewer and the work is absent. However, when assembled in the correct manner as a whole, one begins to discern a clear message.
Tools: Acrylics, Laser Cutter
