The design treatments below were pitched to STUDIOCANAL for the film The Last Letter From Your Lover. These different design concepts take inspiration from modern or retro styles, drawing from the film’s dual-narrative love stories from different eras. Below, you’ll see a selection of cards for each style as well as select initial animations as to how they would have behaved when cut into the trailer. Although none of these specific styles made it to the trailer, you can see how the designs below preceded the designs that made it into the trailer.

This modern look is an earlier iteration of what eventually was cut into the trailer. Here, you’ll see three color explorations before we expanded on the blue version.

Although this retro look was not selected, it was my favorite to work on. I loved playing with the different vintage paper textures and the colorings.
